Join Forecast Public Art in partnership with Electric Machete Studios in welcoming Mujeres Grabando Resistencias (Women Engraving Resistance) for a breakfast artist talk and gathering with the political print and public art collective.

Based in Mexico, D.F. the powerful work of these artists intervenes in the all too common narrative of disappearances and violence of all kinds in public spaces. In July, 2014, Mujeres Grabando Resistencias (Women Engraving Resistance) started the #VivasNosQueremos (We Want Ourselves Alive) graphic arts campaign in order to create prints with clear and intelligible messages against violence towards women, feminicides, and the right to self-defense and organization.

This breakfast event is a part of a week-long series of community-building events between artists, workshops with youth, and in communities affected by sex trafficking and violence against women hosted by Electric Machete Studios as part of its first international exhibition.

A light breakfast will be served. Free. RSVPs required.
Friday, November 18th, 9-10:30am
