In 2014 Forecast embarked on a new public art initiative in partnership with The Cornerstone Group—a Minnesota-based, progressive real estate development company grounded in sustainable development practices—called the Richfield Artist Resident Engagement (RARE).

The mission of RARE is to use the new Lyndale Gardens development in Richfield, MN as a launch point for community artworks to catalyze creative conversations about the future, while celebrating the existing community.

Following a series of community listening sessions, artists were selected to work within the Richfield community to create public art that addresses identified needs and to enrich and inform the creation of the new Lyndale Gardens development.

One such project was a 280-foot-long mosaic-mural that lines a public amphitheater along Richfield Lake. The mural was created by artist Greta McLain by engaging over 100 Richfield community members in constructing the piece.

Celebrations for the completion of the amphitheater and mosaic mural will include family-friendly music, dancing, food trucks and art events. The festivities will be held at the location of the amphitheater from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

Location: Richfield Lake Amphitheater & Shoreline, 6398 Lyndale Ave S, Richfield, MN 55423
