Chicago, Ill. (2012) – During the summer of 2012, the streets and buildings of Chicago were a giant canvas for artist Jessica Stockholder. Using adhesive vinyl and vinyl scrim, Stockholder coated building façades, sidewalks, and crosswalks at State Street and Adams with strips of bright color for an installation called Color Jam. The largest public artwork in Chicago history, Color Jam was commissioned by Chicago Loop Alliance, a member-based business organization that works to enrich the Loop district through creative placemaking, urban development, fostering alliances between businesses and organizations, and more.
