Treasure Hill Artist Village, Taipei, Taiwan (February 15-March 16, 2014) – San Francisco-based artist Su-Chen Hung recently presented a public light and sound installation titled Red Walk for the 2014 Chinese Lantern Festival in Taipei. Made of LED light strips, metal wire and bamboo sticks, the piece was fashioned into a spiral-shaped maze for visitors to explore in Treasure Hill Artist Village. The bamboo sticks acted as wind chimes, knocking against one another when touched by the breeze or visitors’ hands. At night, each of the supporting bamboo sticks lit up from inside, courtesy of the red LED light strips.
