Montreal, Canada (2013) – With Megaphone, Montreal’s citizens and visitors were given a public platform with which to share their ideas and concerns about issues that affect the city. The interactive installation by Moment Factory, a design and production studio specializing in multimedia projects, featured a designated area in the Quartier des Spectacles where people could express their opinions vocally into an apparatus. Through vocal recognition software, their words were transformed into text that was projected onto the wall of the Président-Kennedy building. As more and more people expressed their concerns, the wall reflected the collective issues people wanted to address. The installation also featured an exhibition highlighting Quebec’s great public speakers on the Promenade des Artistes.
