Scottsdale, Ariz. – The third annual Canal Convergence | Water + Art + Light event, including interactive art, hands-on activities, and live music, took place February 26 – March 1 this year.
Located on the Scottsdale Waterfront, the event staged five large-scale art installments, two dance performances and an educational water conservation display.
Artworks and installations on view included Play Array by Urban Matter Inc, My Your Our Water by Erin V. Sotak, The Pool by Jen Lewin, The Artwork Forge by Toby Fraley, …the Garden Grows: BioMe, by Karrie Hovey, Migration by Saskia Jorda, Autumn/Spring Pavillion: Desert Series by Joy Holland and The Office of Environmental Responsibility – To-go Lid Division by Mimi Jardine, and two performances by Heidi Duckler Dance Company.
These artworks took advantage of the canal site, incorporating water and light elements, and ranged from depictions of local animals and plants to large-scale interactive games to internationally touring installations.
Canal Convergence is presented by Scottsdale Public Art with support from Salt River Project.
