Chroma Zone 2023 artists, continuing to disrupt the mural festival status quo

As an artist selection facilitator, Forecast provided the Creative Enterprise Zone with a list of pre-qualified artists for the festival’s 4th year. A part of our role with Chroma Zone is to disrupt the mural festival status quo. In line with our values, we thoughtfully select and recommend artists through the lenses of racial and gender equity.

Public art opportunity—Hennepin County Hosmer Library

This Public Art commission is open to all artists, or artist-led teams that live in the Central neighborhood (zip codes 55407, 55408, or 55409) or have a demonstrated connection to the Hosmer Library and/or Central community. Applicants must be 18 years or older and have proven experience with public art.

Announcing Forecast’s 2023 Early- and Mid-Career Grant Recipients

We are incredibly proud of the talented group of artists selected to receive Forecast grant funding in 2023. Fifteen artists are recipients of Forecast's 2023 early- and mid-career grants. A total of $86,000 will support thirteen independent projects, leadership and professional development, risk-taking, multidisciplinary approaches, and collaborative problem-solving in the field of public art.

Forecast, in partnership with the City of Hopkins, Alatus, and the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District, are facilitating creative activities to envision the future public amenities at 325 Blake Road. We hired artists to develop creative activities and engage with community members who live near this site.

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and Forecast artists to develop murals to foster Parks for All. 9 artists will be selected to create murals in 2023, each representing Minneapolis Park & Recreation system goals. Commission: $6,000 artist fee + $3,000 for materials (to include artist travel). Qualifications due September 19 at 11:59 PM CDT, 2022.
