Forecast customizes trainings and workshops for artists, community leaders and allied professionals. We provide key knowledge about managing public art projects, conduct sessions to help take ideas from formation to implementation, and train community members on how to envision creative places and work with artists.

Making It Public

This two-day workshop is designed for artists of any discipline who want to gain knowledge about the nuts and bolts of public art and placemaking. The intensive workshop gives artists the skills necessary to produce meaningful public art in the 21st century. Participants engage in panel discussions, round-robin sessions, learning activities, and networking opportunities, and leave prepared to move their work into the public sphere.

Forecast has brought Making It Public to artists around the country, from Minnesota to Hawaii.

Public Art 101

Through our Public Art 101 training, Forecast teaches audiences from different backgrounds and professions the basics of public art, while expanding awareness of the possibilities.

This workshop gives anyone who is interested in public art an overview of the various forms public art can take and the range of materials and methods employed by artists. We cover temporary and permanent projects, and a wide range of approaches, from social engagement to pop-ups and more.
