Forecast Partnership Announcement: Our Space is Spoken For

Forecast is partnering with Twin Cities Media Alliance (TCMA) on an exciting program, Our Space is Spoken For.

Our Space is Spoken For is a new initiative by TCMA where community members and POCI (people of color and indigenous) artists come together to reclaim space. This program will rewrite narratives of how historically marginalized communities navigate, define and negotiate the spaces in which we work, live and play.

Our Space is Spoken For will collect stories around space from members of historically marginalized communities in St. Paul and pass selected stories to POCI artist teams to create performance pieces. These pieces will be performed in the spaces the stories are based on and documented into a film to be screened at St. Paul Neighborhood Network (SPNN).

The application for participating artists is open now! Learn More and Apply

Deadline May 31, 2018

Selected Our Space is Spoken For artists will receive:

  • $3,000 for their participation
  • A budget for creative specialists (e.g., costume designers, makeup artists) and supplies
  • Professional video and photo documentation of their performances for their portfolios

Forecast will provide a customized version of our two-day Making it Public workshop to selected artists.
