Pete Driessen
2019 Mid-Career Project Grantee | $10,000
Northern Pacific Roundhouse Sculpture
Driessen will create an abstract, monumental and participatory Roundhouse sculpture echoing the former 1875 rail architecture at the historic Northern Pacific Rail Yard site in Brainerd, MN. The Roundhouse installation project will reflect upon the former 44 door pivoting turntable structure, along with ideas of transport history, community empowerment, and rural vacancy. An interactive workshop, critical dialogue, exhibition and opening will be held onsite within former NP Boiler Shop.
