Silverwood Park Sculpture Production
Paradis will create a large ceramic sculpture to be installed at Silverwood Park in St. Anthony, MN. The piece will be large enough for viewers to engage with directly, walking in between and through the two arches that will be constructed. This will be Paradis’ largest solely ceramic sculpture to date and she is thrilled to be installing it on the beautiful island at Silverwood Park.
Erin Paradis is a ceramic sculptor, living and working in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She received her MFA from the University of Minnesota and her BFA from Alfred University. She has worked extensively as an artist, resident, business owner, and instructor at art centers and academic settings both nationally and internationally. Erin was a Lecturer in Ceramics and Sculpture from 2015-2020 at the University of Minnesota and instructed at Bloomington Center for the Arts. She received the Artist Initiative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board in 2017 and 2020, and the Open Studio Fellowship through Franconia Sculpture Park in 2018. Paradis was also a recipient of the 2019 Jerome Ceramic Artist Project Grant through Northern Clay Center. Most recently she received an Artist Award through Silverwood Park in St. Anthony, MN and will be installing a large outdoor sculpture on its grounds in summer 2021.
Forecast has been offering early-career artist grants supported by Jerome Foundation since 1989. In addition to funding, Forecast is dedicated to providing professional development and learning opportunities designed to assist emerging artists as they experiment/ hone their practices, and cultivate careers in the field. Forecast mid- and early-career grants are designed to support independent projects, leadership development, professional development, risk-taking, multidisciplinary approaches, and collaborative problem-solving in the field of public art.
