Katrina Knutson

2020 Mid-Career Project Grantee | $10,000

Cross County Arts Greater Minnesota Mural Project

Cross County Arts will build connections and relationships across Minnesota counties, bridge gaps between urban and rural communities, and promote public art and artists across Minnesota. Knutson will hire local artists from smaller cities in Minnesota and work with them to design and create a mural in their town.

Born and raised in Minneapolis, Katrina Knutson is a painter, print maker, illustrator, and active community muralist. She is inspired by urban landscapes, resistance and resilience. She works as a teaching artist in many communities across the state of Minnesota.

The McKnight Foundation generously enables Forecast to provide Professional Development Grants for mid-career artists seeking to expand their work in the field of public art. Forecast mid- and early-career grants are designed to support independent projects, leadership development, professional development, risk-taking, multidisciplinary approaches, and collaborative problem-solving in the field of public art.
