Studio Arisaema Incubator – Workshop Series

Studio Arisaema Workshop Series is a 6-month workshop series for Black gender marginalized artists to deepen their craft in music production, engineering and performance. Participants will learn from sessions with contracted arts professionals (e.g. Music Software 101, Instrument Lessons, Marketing/Promotion) while experiencing enrichment through attendance at conferences/performances, engagement with local arts entities and orgs and conducting group feedback/reflections.

M Jamison is an interdisciplinary record producer and musician based out of Minneapolis, MN. Her practice centers the narratives of Black Trans/Queer artists through record production, sound composition, scoring and live performance support. Her collaborative compositions have been shown and performed at institutions such as Walker Art Center, Park Avenue Armory, The Shed, Artcenter College of Design, and Kunstraum Kreuzberg. M is the program manager of the Studio Arisaema Incubator, a creative studio residency for Black artists of marginalized genders (women, trans femme, trans masc and nonbinary folks) to deepen their craft in music production, engineering and performance. studioariseema.org

Forecast has been offering early-career artist grants supported by Jerome Foundation since 1989. In addition to funding, Forecast is dedicated to providing professional development and learning opportunities designed to assist emerging artists as they experiment/ hone their practices, and cultivate careers in the field. Forecast mid- and early-career grants are designed to support independent projects, leadership development, professional development, risk-taking, multidisciplinary approaches, and collaborative problem-solving in the field of public art.
